The end of a worshiped bloodline, only 36 250 GTOs were produced from 1962 to 1964 and these cars may be the most sought -after classics of all time. The nickname GTO is actually a nickname that was shaped by the British press during this time, with the "O" on "Omologato" or "Homologation" in English. The GTO was simply known as Comp.62 in the plant. Surrounded by intrigue and folklore, none of the 36 cars was identical. The bodies were all beaten by hand in Scaglietti's workshops with aluminum over a wooden frame, but here the similarity stopped.
The first 18 cars were supplied with the rear spoiler as a separate component for retrofitting on the body. The cooler sizes differed between the examples, as well as the number of channels on their bodies and there were various other remarkable technical and cosmetic differences.
This model has the number 19, the winner of the GT class of 24 Heures du Le Mans 1962, dangers of Pierre Noblet and Jean Guichet. The couple won the class confidently and ended it on the overall podium. Ferrari continued this winning streak in every further round, which led to Ferrari won the championship with a maximum score of 45 points.
This fine model of the Ferrari 250 GTO in 1:18 scale was handmade and completed in our workshops in cooperation and support of Ferrari in terms of original surfaces, materials, archive images and drawings. The use of extremely precise digital scans of the original car enabled us to perfectly reproduce every detail in the scale. In addition, it was subjected to a detailed test by both engineering and design teams in order to ensure complete presentation accuracy.
Each amalgam model in 1:18 scale is supplied in a luxurious black box with a protective outer bearing envelope. Each model is mounted on a polished black acrylic base, which is protected by a clear acrylic dust cover. In the base there is a booklet with the authenticity certificate as well as information and accompanying material for the car. The model title and the original branding are attached to a polished stainless steel sticker at the front of the base.
