As Limited edition and a true masterpiece of model building, this Ferrari 250 LM sets new standards in attention to detail and authenticity. The role model – the Ferrari 250 LM #7, winner of the 12 Hours of Reims in 1964 – is one of the most important racing cars of its time.

The original car was delivered new to Maranello Concessionaires, Ferrari's representative in England at the time. He contested his first race in 1964 at the Coppa Intereuropa in Monza with Roy Salvadori at the wheel. Jackie Stewart, Lucien Bianchi and Innes Ireland also later drove this vehicle. In September 1965 the car was transferred to Peter Clarke, who continued to use it until 1968. David Piper also owned the vehicle for a short time.

The 12 Hours of Reims in 1964 was special - the start took place at midnight. Without lights, using the classic Le Mans starting procedure, Graham Hill, John Surtees and Ford driver Richie Ginther fought a spectacular three-way battle for over an hour at average speeds of over 200 km/h. In the morning, Surtees was just ahead of Joakim Bonnier, while competing vehicles such as the GT40 and Shelby Daytona had already retired. Pit stops and different strategies ensured constant leadership changes.

Shortly before the end of the race, Surtees lost crucial time due to a need to change the brake pads and later a sudden tire failure. When he got back on track he was 1.5 laps behind the Hill/Bonnier Ferrari - which ultimately won the race.
